Knowledge Management Group

Knowledge Management Group is a research and development group led by Professor Krzysztof Goczyła focusing on areas connected with knowledge an information management.

Research activities of KMG group are aimed at development of new methods for effective information management and knowledge management. The priority of the group is the suitability of proposed methods and tools to the management of large volumens of data available in World Wide Web. The work of KMG is focused on ontological methods of representing knowledge which are the core element of Semantic Web initiative. The main product of the group is KaSeA reasoning system developed for management of large databases compliant to Semantic Web. The system implements the new method of reasoning from description logic based ontologies named cartographical approach.
